Erika was May 2009 recipient of the Ernst & Cecile Holzinger Memorial Award for Photography and the Metropolitan Council of Jewish Poverty presented her with the Most Creative Award for her volunteer photographic project.

Her education includes a Masters Degree in Photography from Parsons School of Design. Her undergraduate studies include a Bachelors Degree of Arts from SUNY New Paltz. Through the SUNY study abroad program, she studied Medieval Art in Paris. Erika's photography experience includes working for Artforum Magazine, Art + Commerce, Macy's Commercial Studios, Woodstock Center for Photography, Blackstar Publications and the Samuel Dorksy Museum of Art.

Erika has taught digital photography and photoshop at SUNY Purchase's Pre-College program. In addition, she is an active member of the Professional Women Photographers and the National Association of Women Artists. Her work has been displayed internationally at various galleries including, Mastul e.V. in Berlin, Houston Center for Photography, A.I.R. Gallery, Calumet Gallery, The New York Hall of Science, Salmagundi Gallery, and The Gallery in Stamford.
